Nokia launches a navigator
Nokia enters a new market and launches a navigator, the Nokia 330 Auto Navigation. The navigator offers maps of Europe displayed on a touch sensitive screen.
The Nokia 330 was not the surf board we have heard rumours about. Instead it is a navigator under the full name of 330 Auto Navigation. It gives directions using speech and maps. Maps covering all of Europe are pre-installed in the navigator.
-There is a growing interest among regular users for this kind of navigational solutions, and we are happy to be able to introduce the Nokia 330 Auto Navigation, that answers to that need, says Sven Johansson, head of sales at Nokia Scandinavia Enhancements in a press statement.
Nokia's new navigator is equipped with a 2Gbyte memory card for the pre-installed maps and direction information. The 330 Auto Navigation uses the map application Route 66 Navigate-7 and map data from Navteq. The navigator can also be used to display images, play music and video.
The device will be available in Europe before the end of this year, and will be priced at around 360 euro excluding VAT.
