Apple stoppar Commodore 64-emulator till Iphone

Nej, det blir ingen Commodore 64-nostalgi till Iphone. Åtminstone inte för ohackade Iphones. Apple har nu satt stopp för den planerade C64-emulatorn till Iphone. Sedan tidigare finns C64-emulator till bland annat Nokias smarta mobiltelefoner.

Apple motiverar att man stoppar C64-emulatorn med att programmet installerar och kör annan programkod, som inte ingår i programmet självt. Detta är inte tillåtet enligt Apples regler för program till Iphone.

Programtillverkaren Manomios VD Brian Lyscarz uttrycker till webbsajten Gizmodo förvåning inför beslutet. Detta med anledning av att han redan fått mycket positiv feedback från Apple i Europa för programmet. Han påpekar också att man har alla licenser som krävs för programmet.

Detta hjälpte dock inte när programmet till slut laddades upp för godkännande till programarkivet App Store.

No interpreted code may be downloaded and used in an Application except for code that is interpreted and run by Apple's Published APIs and built-in interpreter(s)."
